UNT Fun Run

by on November 7, 2010

Homecoming 2010 was an exciting and fun filled weekend for students, alumnus, and citizens of Denton. There were so many activities to choose from, you couldn’t pick just one. UNT Intramural Sports hosted a 3k run that took place on campus on Saturday morning. This particular event was open to the general public.

When asked there reason for participating there were several answers, “I run to stay in shape”, “It was something to do before tailgating”, and “I run in the mornings every day, this time I just get a prize.” Running for some is about having fun, but for others its about staying healthy.

Along the course there were students at the end of almost every block cheering the runners on. There we’re several participants ranging from ages 14 to 60-years-old.

Age Divisions:

  • 19 and under
  • 20-29
  • 30-39
  • 40-49
  • 50+

The winner of each division received a free t-shirt.

Many people at UNT don’t know that a running club exist. With limited space on the cross country and track and field roster, the running club is a great alternative for those who like to stay in shape and be involved.
