Denton Planner’s Zone Conference

by on November 1, 2010

On Thursday, October 28, scores of local vendors gathered at the UNT Gateway Center for the annual Planner’s  Zone conference. The Planner’s Zone, held each year through a partnership between the Denton Convention and Visitors Bureau and the UNT Gateway Center, is a one-stop-shop for anyone interested in planning an event in the Denton area.

Hosting a family reunion next summer? The Planner’s Zone will help you find out about hotels in the Denton area and what they have to offer. Are you a bride-to-be? Numerous event venues, bakeries, and photographers will be represented so you can pick the right choice for your big day. Planning your company’s next conference? The Planner’s Zone allows you to speak one-on-one with catering companies and find the right one to meet your taste. Are you a vendor who would like to network and get your name out? There is no better place for publicity than the Zone.

Many brides-to-be or first-time event planners may look to the bigger cities for all of their event needs. But, as evident by the Planner’s Zone, they can get all they need right here in Denton. This year’s event highlighted the variety of event facilities, restaurants, catering companies, and even musicians that call Denton home. The Planner’s Zone was quite a success, with 51 booths and hundreds of attendees.

“I’ve gotten quite a bit of business because of it over the years and I couldn’t wait to come back and do it again this year. It’s been really beneficial to my business.  It’s a great way for a small business to really get to know the community… and to let them know who you are and where you’re at,” said the owner The Flower Shop, a local small business.

Disappointed that you missed this year’s event? No worries. The Planner’s Zone, now in its fifth year, will be back next year, bigger and better than ever.
